Rodgau could be enriched by a special musical highlight this year: If there is sufficient interest, the German Choral Youth's SingBus will make a stop in the town. The SingBus is a converted lorry with a fold-out stage and brings singing, music and creative hands-on activities directly to children and young musicians. A full-day programme is planned, aimed at school classes, children's choirs and music-loving families. In the mornings, the focus is usually on primary school classes in years 1 to 4. They can visit the SingBus as a class and take part in a variety of workshops and an interactive singing and sound exhibition, where music can be discovered and experienced in a playful way. After a lunch break, the SingBus will be open to the public and free of charge for all children in the afternoon. A colourful stage and concert programme is also planned, which will be performed by local children's choirs as well as orchestras and instrumental groups from Rodgau. Whether the project will be realised in Rodgau depends largely on the feedback and willingness of the schools, music groups and children's choirs to participate. A survey of interest is currently underway to assess the need and possible organisation. "It is important to us to give children in Rodgau an open and positive approach to music and at the same time to make the great commitment of the local choirs and music groups visible," says Jennifer Jäger from the Agency for Economic Development & City Marketing, which is responsible for the project. "The SingBus provides a wonderful setting for this. Whether it comes to Rodgau will now be decided by the feedback."
