In the first half of the year, the Nieder-Roden district office is once again offering several open and free events that promote encounters, dialogue and shared experiences in the district. The programmes are aimed at different age groups and take place regularly. One of the centrepieces is the Zwergentreff, an open parent-child meeting place for children aged one to three. The centrepiece is a lovingly designed motor skills course, which offers the children a variety of opportunities to try out, climb, balance and develop their motor skills through play. This takes place weekly on Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Seestraße daycare centre. There is also a reading programme at the Seestraße daycare centre on Wednesdays from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. The aim is for young children to learn new German words by reading aloud and then playing. During this time, parents have the opportunity to talk to the children. For children and young people aged between nine and 13, there is a gaming afternoon once a month in the Nieder-Roden public library. On the first Thursday of every month from 4 to 6 p.m., participants can play video games together, discover new games and talk to each other. The focus is on the shared experience. The programme is complemented by an afternoon of games for all generations at the social centre. Here, children, young people, parents and grandparents are equally welcome to play board games together and exchange ideas. The games afternoon takes place from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and no registration is required. The next games afternoons are scheduled for 26 February, 12 and 26 March, 9 and 23 April. All events are free and open to the public. The Nieder-Roden district office would like to strengthen neighbourly cooperation and create spaces for encounters and exchanges with its regular events.
