They are the backbone of outpatient care in the town and bring help directly to where it is most urgently needed: to the homes of the citizens. Last Friday, the town of Rodgau honoured the extraordinary commitment and many years of loyalty of several nursing staff at the Rodgau Social Care Centre at a ceremony. The Rodgau social care centre focuses entirely on the city area and ensures that those in need of care can remain in their familiar surroundings. The team currently cares for around 260 patients on a purely outpatient basis. Help is by no means limited to the older generation. In addition to senior citizens, younger people are also supported, such as insulin-dependent children with diabetes. A significant part of the work also involves counselling in accordance with the German Social Security Code. Here, the social centre supports family carers in care grades 2 to 5 in order to ensure the quality of home care in the long term. Good care requires heart and, above all, sound expertise. In order to fulfil this requirement, the city consistently invests in the further training of its employees. The spectrum ranges from statutory mandatory training in first aid, data protection and occupational safety to specialised in-depth courses such as modern wound management or dementia care. To ensure that this demanding job remains compatible with private life, the city relies on flexible working time models, ranging from a 20-hour week to a full-time position with 39 hours. As a token of appreciation for their many years of service and their tireless commitment to the city's community, the employees celebrating their anniversaries were honoured at a ceremony. In addition to personal words of thanks, the nursing staff received an official certificate and bouquets of flowers in recognition of their important work.
