Continuing on the road to success
The success story continues: from 3 to 24 May, the town of Rodgau is taking part in the nationwide CITY CYCLING campaign for the eighth time in a row. Under the new, lively motto "8 years at the start: Rodgau turns on the wheel", all citizens are called upon to pedal hard for three weeks and set an example for sustainable mobility. After the town shifted up a gear last year with the slogan, the eighth anniversary is now to be used to firmly anchor the enthusiasm for cycling in the population. The bar is set high, as the results from 2025 were impressive: the 941 committed cyclists covered a total of 150,385 kilometres. This corresponds to a CO₂ avoidance of a proud 25 tonnes compared to using the car. Mayor Max Breitenbach looks back on the past season with pride: "Over 150,000 kilometres is a great community achievement. We were all particularly impressed by the Carl Orff School - as the most active school in the whole of Hesse, the pupils have shown what is possible and have earned the "School Cycling" award." The school was honoured for this outstanding achievement by the Hessian Transport Minister Kaweh Mansoori at the State House in Wiesbaden.
How it goes
Participation in CITY CYCLING is free of charge. Anyone who lives, works, belongs to a club or attends a school in Rodgau can take part. Registration is now open on the official campaign website at www.stadtradeln.de/rodgau. Whether as an individual or in a team with friends, family or colleagues - every kilometre counts for the environment and for Rodgau's ranking in a nationwide comparison. The city council cordially invites everyone to take part in the kick-off on 3 May and celebrate the eighth year of CITY CYCLING together. A separate press release will follow for 3 May
