Stadtwerke Rodgau will begin extensive sewer renovation work in the Finkenweg area on 15 September. The measures, which are expected to last until mid-December, involve a 212 metre long transport collector sewer near the Rodau. The renovation will mainly be carried out using a closed construction method in order to minimise the impact on the conservation area. Damage to the inside of the sewer will be repaired using special inner sleeves. The manholes will first be sealed using injections before the structural elements are coated with special mortar. In order to be able to carry out the renovation, the wastewater in the collector sewer must be pumped out and diverted via above-ground pipes. For this reason, the wooden bridge at the level of Wasserfallstraße and the footpath along the Rodau will be temporarily closed. The Rodau playground and the grounds of the children's and youth farm are not affected by the construction work and will remain accessible.
