New youth work programme 2026

The municipal youth work department presents its new programme for 2026, which offers a wide range of activities for schoolchildren and young people. The aim is to provide young people with attractive leisure activities. The new programme includes numerous excursions and workshops in the youth centres. In addition to tried and tested activities, such as the trip to the summer toboggan run or the burger day, new ideas have also been developed. Various creative activities offer the opportunity to let the imagination run wild, explore the metropolis on the River Main on a trip to Frankfurt and discover the fascinating world of bats on an evening walk. "We want to create spaces for young people where they can experience community and have fun," says Stefan Usak, Head of the Youth Department. For younger children from Year 1 upwards, the municipal holiday games take place during the Easter, summer and autumn holidays. A total of 460 places, 80 of which are available in the Easter and autumn holidays, await children from the 1st grade up to the age of 12. A special highlight in the Easter holidays is the popular SnowCamp. During the 9 days, skiers and snowboarders can discover the pistes in the snow-sure "Wildkogelarena" ski area high above Neukirchen am Großvenediger. If you want to take part, you should be quick. The places are usually fully booked within a very short time. The youth work team also offers a regular programme in the town's youth centres, which has been expanded this year. Since September, there has been a new meeting place for young people in Nieder-Roden in the rooms of the Protestant community centre on Puiseauxplatz. The centre is open on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. First City Councillor Janika Martin is delighted that there is now also an offer for young people in Rodgau's largest district. The youth centres are open to children and young people aged 9 to 21. Anyone interested can simply drop by the open meeting place and use the rooms and activities such as billiards, table football or board games. In addition to the open programme, the Dudenhofen youth centre and the youth centres in Jügesheim and Nieder-Roden offer weekly cookery sessions, twice a month there is a midnight sports session in Nieder-Roden and young people have the opportunity to get their bikes in shape at the bicycle workshop in cooperation with ADFC Rodgau. There is also a monthly kickabout in the indoor soccer centre. The 2026 annual programme is now available online at www.rodgau.de/Ferien and is also available in printed form in schools, youth centres and public institutions. Registration for the offers can be made from 1 December at 10 a.m. on the homepage of the city of Rodgau at www.rodgau.de/Ferien. Registrations for bowling and laser tag during the so-called "Hesse Week" of the Christmas holidays are possible online until 1 January 2026. Anyone who would like to compete for victory in the "Mario Kart" tournament can come to the Dudenhofen youth centre on 8 January 2026 without registering.
