"Moment as sound" at the forest cemetery

11th concert at the cemetery

Every year on 1 Advent, a music matinee is held at the forest cemetery in Jügesheim. For the 11th time, Stadtwerke, in cooperation with the Department of Culture, Sport and Volunteering, invites you to this gem of a concert on 30 November at 10:30 am. Jan Iser, Felix Zander and Matthias Fenchel, young jazz fusion musicians from Rodgau, have come together under the promising title "Moment als Klang". They regularly play concerts in the region with their sextet "Odd Structures". In a smaller line-up, they also create soundscapes beyond the composable through collective improvisation. Influenced by Weather Report, Pink Floyd, Trio of Doom and Aphex Twin, each concert creates unique moments with pieces that cannot be defined by notes, but tell stories.

Iser + zander + fennel = "moment as sound"

Jan Iser has been playing drums since the age of 5 and is a member of several ensembles, such as "Quartertones" and the "Darius Blair Quartet". From punk to traditional jazz, he is musically versed in all genres. He is a two-time winner of the Rodgau Cultural Promotion Prize. Felix Zander has been active in orchestras since he was a child. His fascination with woodwind instruments makes him one of the most versatile multi-instrumentalists in the ensembles, and he is a musician, composer, arranger and bandleader throughout the Rhine-Main region. Due to his family background, Matthias Fenchel has been surrounded by music every day since birth. As a musician, composer, arranger and producer, he works creatively in the Offenbach district and beyond. Whether solo on the piano, as a duo, in a band or live with electronic music, he explores the possibilities of creating new sounds and concert formats. The three of them will envelop the audience in moments of sound and impress with their outstanding quality.

Procedure & good cause

Markus Ebel-Waldmann, Operations Manager of Stadtwerke, and Winno Sahm, Head of Cultural Affairs, will welcome the guests. After the concert, there will be coffee and cake to round off the matinee with a chat. Admission is free. Traditionally, a Rodgau organisation or initiative that is primarily active in the social sector, for which we collect donations that morning, presents itself at the concert. This year it is the "Frauenzimmer Rodgau e.V." mothers' centre from Hainhausen. Among other things, they run a small daycare centre, organise holiday games, forest festivals, flea markets, creative activities, parent meetings, advice sessions and run the theatre café at the municipal children's theatre.
