Many senior citizens in Jügesheim can still remember the senior citizens' club in the "Alte Schule" in Ludwigstraße. Since 1987, weekly coffee afternoons have been offered in a convivial atmosphere. The town of Rodgau had to convert the "Alte Schule" for a different use in 2015. At that time, all users of the building had to find other premises. As there was no suitable alternative for the Jügesheim Seniors' Club at the time, the activities of the Jügesheim Seniors' Club were discontinued. The town of Rodgau has now found new premises for the meetings of the Jügesheim senior citizens' club. With immediate effect, a room in the Haus der Begegnung in Vordergasse is available for the senior citizens of Jügesheim. Twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m., senior citizens' groups can reserve the room, meet, chat, drink coffee and much more. A small outdoor area is also available for the beautiful summer days. The room must always be reserved in advance with the municipal senior citizens' counselling service in the town hall, for Tuesdays at the latest on the previous Monday and for Thursdays on the Wednesday before. The person responsible for the senior citizens' group also collects and brings the key from the municipal senior citizens' counselling service in the town hall. It is important to present your identity card. The respective use is free of charge and catering such as drinks, coffee or cake must always be organised by the group itself. A small kitchen is available on site. Contact: Seniors' counselling service, 06106 693-1233 or senioren@rodgau.de.
