Measures against pavement parking in Weiskirchen

The regulatory authority has been taking action against pavement parking for four years now. During this time, almost all streets where parking on the pavement was illegal have been dealt with. In the residential areas, comprehensive 30 km/h zones, only the streets around the now completed major construction site in Schillerstraße are still missing. These have been postponed for the time being due to the construction work, which has also led to a significant reduction in parking space in the surrounding streets. After the end of the construction work, the regulatory authority will now implement the measures against pavement parking in the following streets from 28 March: Am Sportplatz, Mozartstraße between von-Weber-Straße and Lortzingstraße, Ostpreußenstraße, Seligenstädter Straße and Waldstraße. Residents and road users will be informed in the usual way: In the first step, the residents of the individual streets will be informed in principle by means of letters. In the second step, traffic participants will be informed of the procedure by means of notices on their windscreen, including the fact that in the third step, parking on the pavement will result in the initiation of fine proceedings. The individual streets are dealt with in a staggered manner so that the police can also fulfil their other duties. In the streets where the campaign has already been carried out, parking on the pavement will continue to be cautioned. The warning fine of €55 or more is based on a nationwide increase in charges by the Federal Ministry of Transport (since Nov. 2021). This is intended to emphasise the importance of non-motorised traffic on pavements, which is particularly worthy of protection.
