The two lectures "Communication and dealing with people suffering from dementia" and "Mastering challenging situations with strength and composure" marked the end of the "Dementia in focus" series of events organised by the town of Rodgau. With this series, the municipal senior citizens' counselling service sent out a strong signal for education, compassion and a respectful approach to the topic of dementia. In addition to the specialist presentations, the dementia trail, an interactive exhibition, was particularly popular: visitors were able to experience what everyday situations feel like for people with dementia at various stations. This impressive experience touched many deeply and promoted understanding, empathy and awareness in dealing with those affected. The entire series of events was well-founded in terms of content, emotionally moving and socially significant, according to the consistently positive feedback from participants. The series of events will be continued next year and the dementia course will once again be part of the programme.
