Hannelore Schmiedel has died at the age of 89. The deceased was an elected member of the town council from October 1978 to March 1997, where she represented the interests of her fellow citizens as an SPD politician. But Hannelore Schmiedel was also committed to people and her home community outside the political arena. She was one of the founding members of the Bürgerhilfe (citizens' aid organisation) and thus established the idea of mutual aid in Rodgau. The town of Rodgau honours the memory of Hannelore Schmiedel and expresses its sympathy to her family and friends in their hours of mourning and farewell.
