Inspection of grave memorials in the Rodgau cemeteries

Stadtwerke Rodgau would like to inform you that stability tests will be carried out on the gravestones in all Rodgau cemeteries. The specialist company will be visiting the Nieder-Roden, Dudenhofen and Alter Friedhof Jügesheim cemeteries on 21 July and the Waldfriedhof Jügesheim, Hainhausen and Weiskirchen cemeteries on 22 July. The relevant times will be displayed in the showcases at the cemeteries. In accordance with the cemetery regulations (§ 26 Foundation and fixing) and the relevant provisions (accident prevention regulations) of the horticultural trade association, the municipal utilities are obliged to check the stability of all gravestones. The stability or overall condition of gravestones can be impaired by the effects of the weather or the condition of the material, such as rusted dowels. This results in accident risks for which the authorised users are liable. The safety inspection pays particular attention to older graves. Due to the constant effects of the weather, there is an increased risk that defects will not only be visible on the outside, but will only be recognisable on closer inspection. If defects are discovered during the inspection, the cemetery administration is obliged to visibly affix a corresponding notice to the gravestone. If dowels are rusted to such an extent that there is no longer any support at all, the cemetery administration is instructed to secure or relocate the gravestone immediately in order to avoid accidents. The authorised users are requested to have their relatives' gravestones, which have been marked with a corresponding notice, professionally repaired immediately. These stability measures are necessary in the interests of all visitors to the cemetery and are carried out once a year.
