The festive Christmas holidays and the turn of the year are just around the corner. At the same time, preparations for the elections on 15 March 2026 are continuing, albeit with minor restrictions due to the public holidays. Parties and voter groups wishing to stand in the local elections or the foreigners' advisory council elections must submit their election proposals to the electoral office by Monday, 5 January 2026, at 6:00 pm. An appointment should be made in advance to submit these nominations. For this reason, the following special arrangements apply for parties and electoral groups over the holidays and the turn of the year: an emergency telephone service is available for urgent electoral matters from 10:00 to 13:00 on 24, 27, 29, 30 and 31 December and on 3 January. Availability by telephone and in person is guaranteed on 5 January from 08:30 to 18:00 at the town hall.
