There is a vacancy for a lay judge in the Weiskirchen local court district. The term of office is usually 10 years. The work as a lay judge is performed on an honorary basis. The duties of the local courts consist of the certification of signatures and copies, the issuing of death notifications, the securing of estates, co-operation in the determination and maintenance of property boundaries and the valuation of land. The personal requirements for appointment as a lay judge are as follows: The person should enjoy general trust and be experienced and of good character. They should be familiar with the valuation of property. They must reside in the district of the local court. The person must not be authorised to deal with the legal affairs of others on a professional basis and must not be licensed as a lawyer or notary.
