Heat - healthy through the summer

The city of Rodgau and Johanniter are jointly launching a free series of events on the topic of heat protection in old age. Under the motto "Heat! Healthy through the summer", three events are being organised from May to July to provide older people and their relatives with practical help and information for the hot summer months. "Climate change is also making itself felt in Rodgau with increasing periods of heat. These days can be a real test of endurance, especially for older people," explains Frank Bichtemann from the Johanniter organisation, who will give the opening lecture. The series of events will start on 14 May at 2 p.m. in the town hall, Hintergasse 15. After the main lecture, participants will have the opportunity for a personal exchange. A practical workshop on the topic of "First aid in hot weather for senior citizens" will follow on 4 June at the Johanniterhaus, Borsigstraße 56, from 3 pm to 4.30 pm. The event will conclude on 2 July at 3 p.m. with a culinary afternoon at the Johanniter-Quartier, Friedensstraße 4-6, where refreshing summer drinks and light soups will be prepared together. The events are free of charge and can be attended and booked independently of each other. Registration is possible with the city of Rodgau on 06106 693-1233 and by e-mail to senioren@rodgau.de and with the Johanniter on 06106 8710-968 or by e-mail to sozialedienste.offenbach@johanniter.de.
