Theatre "The other side of the coin"

The 2024/25 cultural season begins on Sunday, 29 September at 8 p.m. with the comedy "Die Kehrseite der Medaille" at Bürgerhaus Nieder-Roden, Römerstraße 15, directed by Pascal Breuer and starring Nicola Tiggeler, Timothy Peach, Martin Armknecht and Mia Geese. Do we always say what we think? In "The other side of the coin", the author focusses less on what is said and more on what is usually not said. Despite all the lightness and comedic dynamics, he also manages to make the potential for conflict in the mood swings of those involved tangible at all times. Isabelle and Daniel are a couple who have been married for a long time, Patrick his long-time friend. Patrick has a new girlfriend, her name is Emma and she is very attractive. Isabelle and Daniel keep their distance. Unfortunately, Daniel has persuaded his wife to invite them to dinner. The fact that the predictably unpleasant evening in this comedy becomes a pleasure for the (gleeful!) audience is not only due to the brilliant dialogue, but also to a virtuoso trick: the audience hears the polite conversation between the four characters and the secret, not always very friendly thoughts that they normally hide from each other. Zeller uses an almost forgotten stylistic device of the theatre: A-part (aside) speech. The audience can look forward to an all-round successful comedy, intelligent entertainment with French esprit and that touch of schadenfreude that is characteristic of really good social comedies. Advance tickets from 22 euros are available from the Agency for Culture, Sport and Volunteering in the Alte Apotheke, Schwesternstraße 10, as well as online at www.frankfurtticket.de. Remaining tickets can be purchased at the box office from 7 pm.
