Two Rodgau artists are showing their works in the Rodgau Gallery under the fitting title "Heimspiel". Lothar Steckenreiter from Nieder-Roden and Max Müller from Hainhausen are the exhibitors from 11 September to 6 November at Nieuwpoorter Straße 90. Steckenreiter presents sculptures made of oak wood and filigree rod sculptures. The latter appear weightless and floating and are in the tradition of constructivism. The oak sculptures are limited to the theme of simple, elementary, vertical forms. The material comes from old, demolished half-timbered houses or barns, mainly from Nieder-Roden. The trained locksmith and goldsmith breathes new life into the beams, some of which are centuries old. Correspondingly, Max Müller's writings from the cycle "Letters from the Ivory Tower" are on display. Created during the coronavirus pandemic. The Hainhausen artist suddenly focussed on other topics during the year and a half. Artistic work was no longer the centre of attention. He used this long period of time, which he had gained, for daily reflection in order to develop new ideas, rethink, break up established structures and dare to experiment. A series of photographic works and combined photographs with paintings will be on display. Müller also calls it digital painting. Head of Cultural Affairs Winno Sahm will welcome guests to the vernissage on 11 September at 6 pm. The evening will be accompanied by music from Christiane Lüder on the accordion. The lecturer at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts has received several awards for her playing and is a graduate of the University of Music and Theatre in Hanover as well as various master classes. Several prizes, engagements at the Frankfurt Opera, the state theatres in Mainz, Wiesbaden, Darmstadt and Heidelberg and at various high-calibre festivals are part of her musical biography. Admission is free.
