The presentation of art in Rodgau has been organised by the town for 50 years. Since 2011, this show has been taking place on a large scale under the title RODGAU ART in the community centre and sports hall in Nieder Roden. From 25 to 27 October, 80 artists will be showing their diverse work. Some of the artists presenting their work at the weekend have already exhibited internationally. Hobby artists and self-taught artists mingle with graduates from various art colleges. The works of this year's exhibitors span a wide range from realistic landscape painting to delicate watercolour motifs and surrealist depictions to abstract painting. Western calligraphy stands alongside multi-layered acrylic paintings and precise pencil drawings. Oil paintings contrast with fine ink drawings. The artists use form, colour and material to express their feelings and offer the viewer scope for their own interpretations. Creative sculptures made of wood, bronze, papier-mâché or clay can be admired on the stage, in the foyer and throughout the other rooms. Artist Andrea Kraus will be painting a large picture live at the exhibition. She captures the mood of the visitors and calls her project 'The State of Things'. Among the exhibitors are cultural prize winners from the city of Rodgau, as well as winners of various other awards, including art prizes from abroad. The variety of techniques and materials offers something for every taste. The works can not only be viewed, they can also be purchased. A high-quality catalogue designed by the Nieder-Röder company stolzdesign is also available for purchase at the exhibition. The guided tours with cultural director Winno Sahm on Saturday, 26 October at 4 pm and on Sunday at 3 pm offer an entertaining opportunity to take a closer look at the objects. The workshop talk on Sunday, 27 October at 11:30 a.m. will focus on printing techniques. Here, three artists and Winno Sahm will talk in a relaxed atmosphere about the creation, use of materials and production of their works, giving the audience a special approach to this technique. At the vernissage on 25 October from 7 pm, the duo Daniel and Melanie Huertas will perform Spanish music and flamenco dancing. Everyone is cordially invited to a drink and snacks. On the weekend of the exhibition, the SOS Helferkreis, charming as usual, will provide refreshments. All proceeds will go to SOS Children's Villages. Admission is free on all days.
