The children from daycare centre 14 in Dudenhofen had a wonderful day on their trip to Paul's farm in Wallau. There was a lot of excitement in the morning when the large coach pulled up in front of the daycare centre. For many of the children, this was their first trip on a large coach. The journey took them along the A3 motorway past Frankfurt Airport. The children's delight at the sight of the aeroplanes taking off and landing could not be overheard. Once they arrived at the farm, the children, the daycare centre team and the accompanying parents marvelled at the huge works of art made from countless pumpkins. There was a propeller aeroplane, Aladdin on his flying carpet and much more to admire. All the children were equipped with a rucksack full of provisions and so they first had breakfast together before they were all allowed to swarm out to the diverse range of activities on the open field. Paul's farm had opened especially for the daycare centre. This meant that the whole area could be played on freely. While many children couldn't get out of the maize bath, others explored the maize maze with parents and professionals. There were six stations that had to be found in order to collect a stamp. A giant bouncy castle embedded in the ground and a climbing paradise made of straw bales encouraged the children to jump and climb, which they couldn't get enough of. The exercise in the fresh air naturally made them hungry. But that was also catered for. There were delicious sausages, chips and, of course, grilled corn on the cob with butter. The latter was a big hit with the children. As there was no time left to carve pumpkins because of all the games, a large pumpkin was packed for each child. There was even a certificate for completing the corn maze. The atmosphere on the way home was great. They talked, laughed, sang and slept on the bus. Even days later, the children are still talking about their fantastic trip and agree: "We'll do it again!"
