Volunteer exchange seeks helpers for the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe project Lacrima

Fancy a new task? The Rodgau Volunteer Exchange is looking for volunteers to support the Lacrima project run by Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe. Children and young people from the age of 4 who have lost someone receive help and support in the Lacrima project. In group or individual counselling sessions, they are helped to process their grief and not to feel alone. The children are supported in expressing and processing their grief, for example through creative and various other activities. The special thing about this project is the animal-assisted grief counselling provided by the therapy assistance dog Coffy. He manages to find access to the children and young people, he accepts everyone as they are and does not judge them. He is there to comfort, simply listens and does the children good. Volunteer support is needed in Rödermark/Urberach. Volunteers are supported through regular training and supervision in dealing with the topic of death and grief. Anyone interested can contact the volunteer exchange at kultur@rodgau.de. The exchange is staffed in person on Wednesdays from 08:30 to 18:00, as well as by telephone appointment on 06106 693-1226.
