Senior cinema shows "Forrest Gump"

On Friday, 7 June at 3 pm, the Rodgau Senior Cinema will be showing the tragicomedy, which has won six Oscars and stars Tom Hanks. "Forrest Gump" tells a thoroughly extraordinary life story. Its eponymous protagonist (Tom Hanks, as the boy: Michael Conner Humphrey) only has an IQ of 75, but while his mum (Sally Field) gives him a few life lessons along the way, he manages to accumulate a series of remarkable deeds on his CV. For example, he becomes a professional table tennis player, fights in Vietnam, makes new friends in Lieutenant Dan (Gary Sinise) and Bubba (Mykelti Williamson), observes Governor Wallace trying to prevent black students from entering the university and (without knowing it) uncovers the Watergate scandal. Forrest's life is always closely linked to the US history of the 1960s and 1970s. Only one thing remains constant: his love for his childhood friend Jenny (Robin Wright / Hanna Hall), with whom he has had a close friendship since childhood. But unlike him, she has made a mess of her own life ... The Rodgau senior cinema takes place in the Kronen Lichtspiele, Hochstädter Str. 11-13. Admission costs €7. The cinema on Hochstädter Straße is air-conditioned, but unfortunately not barrier-free. The stairs must be negotiated independently. The cinema can be easily reached from all parts of the city with the city bus line OF 40. The bus stop "Hochstädter Straße" is located directly in front of the cinema. Interested younger people are also very welcome. For more information, please contact the city's senior citizens' counselling service, Tina Taffet, on 06106 693- 1233.
