Start of construction at Rodaupark Jügesheim

The redesign of Rodaupark is finally underway. After citizens had the opportunity to contribute their ideas and suggestions to the redesign of the park directly on site by means of a charette process, a first draft was drawn up, which was then finalised and approved by the city council. After the Easter holidays, the first measures will begin on 2 April. Firstly, the construction site will be set up and tree protection measures taken before the demolition work on the playground, benches, litter bins and bicycle stands begins. This will be followed by the laying of supply lines for drinking water and electricity in cooperation with the Rodgau public utility company. The earthworks for the new playground, the theatre garden and the event area will then begin. At the same time, the planting work will take place in spring. At the end, the new playground, the theatre garden and the event area will be constructed and completed, and new benches and litter bins will be integrated into the park. The eastern path along the Rodau (Konrad-Kappler-Straße to Alter Weg) is not included in the redesign. This will be reworked after the construction work and can be used to a limited extent during the construction phase. The respective ramps on Alter Weg and Konrad-Kappler-Straße will be used as construction site access roads. When the remodelling work is expected to be completed in the summer, the park will initially be restricted in its use, as some of the new planting and new meadow and seeded areas will have to remain cordoned off for development.
