The #RodgauKippenFrei campaign was a great success and was received very positively and supportively by citizens. The campaign served to raise awareness of the proper disposal of cigarette butts and make an important contribution to cleanliness in our city and environmental protection. As part of the campaign, informative content was shared via the website of Stadtwerke Rodgau and social media platforms, explaining the negative impact of carelessly discarded cigarette butts on the environment and calling on people to get involved. These measures have reached and sensitised many citizens. One highlight was the distribution of pocket ashtrays. These were handed out at the recycling centre, at the opening of the lido and at the town festival together with informative flyers. As a result, many smokers were persuaded not to throw their butts on the ground but to dispose of them in an environmentally friendly way. In addition, Stadtwerke Rodgau has applied stencils with concise messages such as "For a clean Rodgau!", "Because we love clean water!" and "For the sake of nature!" at various locations around the town. These appeals are intended to remind citizens to dispose of waste properly. To make it even easier to dispose of cigarette butts, new ashtrays have also been installed in highly frequented locations. Stadtwerke Rodgau is convinced that the campaign has provided important impetus.
