Living will and health care proxy

A medical emergency can happen to anyone - regardless of age and life situation. Anyone aged 18 or over can decide what to do in such an emergency. A living will can specify which examinations and treatments are desirable or undesirable in certain medical situations. The living will is only used if the person concerned is no longer able to express their wishes. The health care proxy gives the living will a "voice" in the area of health care. This power of attorney determines who should represent you in dealings with doctors, health and pension insurance companies and other authorities and who should take care of your financial affairs. Daniela Hubloher from the Hesse Consumer Advice Centre will present the legal basis for powers of attorney and give tips on what to bear in mind when drafting them. The lecture will take place on 19 June, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., in the town hall, city council meeting room, Hintergasse 15, 63110 Rodgau. Attendance is free of charge. Registration is not required. Information about the lecture is available from the municipal senior citizens' counsellor, Tina Taffet, on 06106 693 - 1233 or senioren@rodgau.de.
