Kerstin Heck is a true icon in childcare in the town of Rodgau. Her career began in 1980 as the responsible group leader at the Weiskirchen municipal kindergarten, now better known as the Schillerstraße daycare centre. At times, she was solely responsible for over 20 children there and demonstrated her dedication to her profession and high sense of duty at an early age. After the birth of her two sons, she devoted her time to her family during two periods of parental leave. Her former companions are still among her circle of friends today and describe her as very empathetic and natural. Her journey took her to Dudenhofen in 1994, where she took over the management of daycare centre 1 in Dr.-Weinholz-Straße. Wherever Kerstin Heck went, she found new allies, admirers and friends for life. Her companions still rave about her creative streak and have learnt a trick or two from her during craft activities. Her current colleagues look up to her and see her not only as a role model in the field of childcare, but also in guiding new teachers. With her confident and relaxed manner, she faces up to the challenges and has also been committed to the well-being of her colleagues during her many years on the staff council. Kerstin Heck has now been working as the manager of daycare centre 5 in Römerstraße for 11 years and can look back on a wonderful, fun and exciting time full of great encounters with different people. Even today, after a busy day in the office, she still retreats to the children's service to accompany the youngest children as they grow up. Still an educator with heart and soul after 40 years.
