"Things I know for sure" by Andrew Bovell

The Ernst Deutsch Theater Hamburg's production of the play "Dinge, die ich sicher weiß" will be performed on Saturday, 3 March at 8 p.m. at Bürgerhaus Nieder-Roden, Römerstraße 15. Directed by Adelheid Müther, the cast includes Christoph Tomanek, Maria Hartmann and Nina Petri. Honoured with the 1st INTHEGA Prize Die Nuberin 2022, the audience gets to know the Price family of six as the youngest daughter lists the things she knows are important to her at the beginning and end of the play. Fran and Bob Price, who live in the suburbs of Adelaide, have four grown-up children. In the summer, their youngest daughter Rosie returns from Europe, where she fell in love and had her heart broken. In the autumn, elder daughter Pip decides to leave her husband and children to pursue a career opportunity and an affair overseas. In winter, eldest son Mark shocks his parents when he declares he plans to start a new life in Sydney as Mia. And in spring, the youngest son Ben reveals that he has embezzled a considerable sum of money. Andrew Bovel shows, very closely observed by him, what separates children and parents, and what keeps them together - never sentimentally, but with loving objectivity and great precision. He questions the cracks in the "ideal world" façade with a great deal of empathy, acumen and a pinch of humour. Advance tickets from 20 euros are available at the Agentur für Kultur, Sport und Ehrenamt in der Alten Apotheke, Schwesternstraße 10, Rodgau-Jügesheim and online at www.frankfurtticket.de.
