Progress on the Dudenhofen community centre building site

The paving work on the urban redevelopment site around Ludwig-Erhard-Platz starts at the end of February. This means that the construction site in the first construction phase is gradually closing and a first glimpse of the new ambience will be possible step by step in the coming weeks. After a lot of preparatory work in the ground around the community centre and the Dalles was carried out by the company August Fichter GmbH, work will now continue on the surface until probably the end of April. Some additional activities could be carried out flexibly beyond what was originally planned. At the short-term suggestion of local clubs, the city council has created a space for a mobile stage at the community centre. Due to renovation measures and an improved supply to the fountain, including a cistern, the fountain at the community centre was spectacularly moved with a crane. Furthermore, empty conduits for future fibre optic cables were laid in the square in advance. The original planning of the tree locations on the Dalles also had to be adapted due to new findings about the existing cables. The position of the maypole was optimised and some renovation work was carried out on the exposed base of the community centre and the daycare centre on site. In addition to these tasks, which were only recognisable during construction, the slightly delayed start of the construction site and the weather-related extension of the winter break in January caused delays. As with every current construction site, the one or other delivery delay also posed a challenge. Nevertheless, those responsible have worked together to try to realise this as quickly and pleasantly as possible for the citizens and residents. Thanks are also due to the patience of the people living around the construction site, who have put up with the dust and noise. In future, everyone will be able to enjoy a beautiful square with a pleasant atmosphere.
