The "Wishing Tree" campaign in Rodgau was a complete success again this year. Children between the ages of 3 and 12 made a total of 168 wishes. These naturally included typical children's dreams such as Lego, board games, dolls, cuddly toys, bicycles and even a fire engine. But coloured pencils, bed linen and clothes were also on the wish lists. All the children received a present. If the wish was actually a little too big for the campaign, the children were still made happy with a small gift. Wishes that were not fulfilled despite the great commitment of many private donors and companies who took part in the campaign and to whom many thanks are due, were taken over by the municipal agency for business development and city marketing. The gifts, all beautifully wrapped and some with personalised greetings, were presented in the council chamber of the town hall. There, Mayor Max Breitenbach and First City Councillor Janika Martin distributed the parcels to the beaming children. In the foyer, the little ones enjoyed biscuits, gingerbread and drinks after their initial excitement had subsided. Uncollected presents were taken home to the children.
