The Kolpingstrasse / Schillerstrasse junction will be temporarily open to traffic from 21 December. This is possible because a first layer of asphalt is being laid to allow vehicles to pass through the roadworks. A temporary path will be provided for pedestrians on the western side of Kolpingstrasse. Vehicles will therefore be able to drive to and from Weiskirchen-Ost via the Schillerstraße bridge again over the turn of the year and will not have to take the diversion via the B45. The OF-40 bus will also use this option via Kolpingstraße from 23 December. Two temporary stops will be set up in Kolpingstraße, one for each direction of travel. The shuttle taxi that has been in operation to date will no longer run. The rest of Schillerstraße will remain closed. A diversion will be made via Lortzingstraße and Kolpingstraße. It is essential to observe the current no stopping signs. However, the construction site as a whole is not yet finished. Work is expected to resume in the new year on 13 January. The junction area will have to be fully closed again to carry out the remaining work, such as laying the paving in the footpaths, finalising the road asphalt surface and the necessary marking work. This closure is expected to last until 7 February. As any work always depends on the weather, delays may occur. During this second phase of the closure, motor vehicle traffic will again be diverted via the B45. The arrangements for bus services will then be published.
