Play, fun and learning all in one: Edurino is a new programme for children aged 4 to 8 at the public library. The Edurino digital learning game system consists of haptic animal figures, an ergonomic stylus and the free Edurino app, which works on all standard smartphones and tablets. Once downloaded, a game can also be played offline. The digital learning journey is started by placing the play figure on the tablet and the children experience various adventures together with the figures, explore the world of first numbers, practise logical thinking and coding or learn about the clock. Parents can customise the user profile with numerous setting options, such as limiting the playing time. The content of the app was developed with educators, and the accompanying stylus promotes children's fine motor skills. Although digitalisation is advancing, traditional writing is still a crucial skill. It is important that children are able to use both pens and digital tools. A specific learning pen for tablets helps with this. Children are increasingly growing into a digitalised world. With the Edurino system, children can be introduced to digital learning in a responsible way. Figures and pens are available to borrow from the Nieder-Roden library, but can also be delivered to the Jügesheim library on request.
