The demand for skilled workers on the labour market is high and many training places remain unfilled. Nevertheless, many school leavers have not yet found suitable future prospects and do not know exactly which career path is right for them. Right now, just before the end of the summer holidays, some young people are asking themselves the same questions. Start an apprenticeship? Obtain a higher-level school-leaving qualification? Complete a voluntary social year? Together with the project organisers, they can find answers to precisely these questions in the "Rodgau 16plus" qualification project run by the town of Rodgau. There are still places available, and interested young people will receive non-binding advice. "Rodgau 16plus" is aimed at young people who are between school and work and want to get to know their skills better and find their career direction. The project offers various employment opportunities in the areas of skilled trades, day-care centre education, administration and care. Anyone who is still unsure whether training in one of these areas is the right choice can arrange a non-binding information session and complete a few trial days in advance. Young people who live in the Offenbach district, have completed their compulsory schooling and are at least 16 years old are eligible to take part. The practical assignments take place in various municipal facilities and job application training is held once a week. Here, meaningful application documents are prepared and job interviews are practised in order to optimally prepare the participants for their career start. An expense allowance is paid for participation in the project and the cost of the Hesse-wide student ticket is covered. Interested parties can send their CV and school reports from the last two school years to 16plus@rodgau.de. If you have any questions, please contact the project manager, Mrs Wenzel, on 06106 693 1236, or Mr Hoch, who provides socio-educational support for the project, on 06106 693 1264.
