Citizens as well as cultural initiatives, associations and municipal bodies can submit proposals for the Culture Prize until 31 August. Every year, alternating with the Culture Prize, the city awards the Culture Promotion Prize for young artists. By awarding this prize, the city of Rodgau supports artists from the fields of visual arts, writing, performance or music who are recognised as having exceptional artistic talent and who are still in training or at the beginning of their career. The prize is awarded to individuals or groups who reside or are primarily active in Rodgau. The cultural sponsorship prize is generally divisible and is currently endowed with a sum of 2500 euros to financially support the prizewinner(s) in their work and to provide a motivational boost for the future. Proposals must be accompanied by a detailed written description of the proposed person or group, the achievement to be honoured and the impact on the cultural life of the town of Rodgau and, if applicable, by supporting material. The nomination must include the address or contact details of the nominee and the nominator. Additional information such as a CV, a history of the organisation, documentation of previous artistic or cultural achievements are also helpful and can be submitted to the Agency for Culture, Sport and Volunteering, Steffen Reichenbach, Hintergasse 15 or by email to kultur@rodgau.de.
