48 young people from Rodgau experienced a sporty Easter holiday in the snow at the SnowCamp organised by the town of Rodgau, which took place under this year's motto "Icelantis". Plenty of snow awaited the group in the Wildkogelarena ski area for skiing and snowboarding. Only the April weather proved to be rather moody during the first two days with a lively alternation of storms, Sahara sand, snowfall and rain. Without further ado, the teamers from the town organised a visit to a hydroelectric power station and an excursion to the Krimml waterfalls. "Digger, it's really spectacular," commented one of the participants on the successful alternative programme. To everyone's delight, the Easter Bunny then brought the hoped-for sunshine and blue skies so that everyone could really let off steam on the piste. Lara Kilz, Louis Kilz and Marcel Mathes won the trophies in the ski and snowboard contest. In the evening programme, equipped with ski diving goggles and creative costumes, they went on a diving trip down into the deep sea: in search of the sunken city of Icelantis, a number of missions had to be completed to protect the peace-loving underwater inhabitants from mean landlubbers and air breathers. Pictures and videos of the holiday will be available online at http://rodgauskifreizeit.blogspot.com over the next few weeks. The SnowCamp is a highlight of the city's holiday offers and is traditionally booked out in a flash. Anyone who wants to take part next year should make a note of the registration start date of Monday 2 December on the Rodgau town website. The trip is expected to start right at the beginning of the Easter holidays next year.
