    • Also in Dudenhofen, the long-standing conductor of the Musikverein, Hans Adam, receives the Medal of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
    • Both awards were presented by Mayor Paul Scherer.
  • December

    • Full streets at the Advent stroll in Jügesheim and the Christmas markets in Weiskirchen and Dudenhofen as well as at the Christmas market in Nieder-Roden.
    • Inauguration of the city's new central town hall on Saturday, 10 December, in the presence of the Hessian Minister of the Interior Gottfried Milde
    • One week later, more than 5000 visitors attended the "Open Day" with a club exchange in the town hall.
    • The town awards the 1987 Culture Prize to the owners of three renovated half-timbered houses: Robert Keller from Hainhausen, Eckhard Rehringhaus from Weiskirchen and Kurt Reichenbach from Nieder-Roden
