    • The prince and princess Rudi and Veronika Schmitt of the TGS Jügesheim open the 88th carnival campaign.
    • Pia Frenken is the city's first environmental consultant.

    • TGM Jügesheim's brilliantly concluded winter running series as a successful start to its 100th anniversary year.
    • District forester Herbert Klee retires after 32 years of service in the Dudenhöfer Forest.
    • 50 parade numbers at the Jügesheim carnival procession.
    • Federal Environment Minister Klaus Töpfer gives the speech at the traditional herring dinner organised by the CDU Dudenhofen.
    • Wolfgang Kern elected town fire inspector for a further five years.
    • After 23 years, Dudenhofen's fire chief Helmut Rühl is handing over the management of the fire brigade to Richard Reppel.

    • Colourful spring ball of the DRK Dudenhofen on the occasion of the 120th DRK anniversary.
    • TGM Easter run with record participation and course record.
    • Air rifle shooter Carmen Giese qualifies for the Olympics in Seoul; together with the triathlon athlete from TG Hainhausen, Stefan Hartig, she is named "Sportswoman of the Year" for the town of Rodgau.

    • Dietmar Schrod is the new conductor of the Musikverein Weiskirchen, which had previously been conducted by Hans Trumm for 26 years.
    • Cycling club Rodgau celebrates cycling tour premiere with the participation of 13 cyclists from Nieder-Roden's twin town Puiseaux
    • First recordings of the Hessisches Zupforchester at the hiking club "Edelweiß" Dudenhofen.
    • New school sports field at Georg Büchner School inaugurated.

    • Musikverein Nieder-Roden celebrates its 70th anniversary in the sports hall.
    • 10th anniversary of the Egerländer in Rodgau.
    • Reinhold Ricker's first Mass in the parish of St Rochus Hainhausen.
    • District Youth Fire Brigade Day at the Gänsbrüh in Dudenhofen.
    • Brilliant performance by the Männerchor 1842 Dudenhofen at the prize singing in Viernheim with 15 top scores of "ten".
    • Musical breakthrough for the young Rodgau rock group "Second Voice" at the concert in Dudenhofen.
    • 20 years of "Ladies" within the MGV "Germania" Dudenhofen.
    • Orffino" circus from the Carl Orff School in Jügesheim goes on tour after a big premiere.

    • Successful conclusion of the holiday games with the participation of 320 children and 48 each at camps on the Baltic Sea and on Föhr.

    • First trade show organised by the Jügesheim trade association in the municipal sports hall.
    • Inauguration of the municipal artificial turf sports pitch at the sports hall in Jügesheim.
    • Construction work begins to calm traffic in Jügesheim and Dudenhofen.
    • 60th anniversary of the Weiskirchen fire brigade.
    • 25 years of the Hainhausen Fruit and Horticultural Association.
    • The tower of St Marien Nieder-Roden Catholic Church is being renovated.
    • Faselstallbrunnen in Dudenhofen is rebuilt.
    • Explosion in the Nieder-Roden high-rise wall - "Chinese Wall" - costs one life and causes extensive property damage.
    • Relief action is initiated for those affected.
    • Over 2000 senior citizens took part in the city's senior citizens' cruise on the River Main with the "Frankonia".

    • The establishment of a police station in Dudenhofen town hall is on the horizon.
    • 700 visitors at the traditional pig dinner organised by the Dudenhofen CDU in the community centre.
    • 10th anniversary of the Rodgau Tennis Club in Dudenhofen.
    • The Hessian Minister President Dr Walter Wallmann presents Mayor Paul Scherer with the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon.
    • Another major trade exhibition "NiRoGa" in Nieder-Roden.
    • Guest performance by pianist Stephan Hohlweg from Nieder-Roden in his home community
    • Remarkable Macbeth performance by the Georg Büchner School in Jügesheim.
    • According to the census results, Rodgau is now the largest town in the district with 38,399 inhabitants.

  • November

    • Fifth Kreis-Offenbach discussion with top athletes and association presidents in the Dudenhofen community centre.
    • 25th anniversary of the Weiskirchen Kolping family celebrated; Nieder-Roden's birdwatchers inaugurate new clubhouse.
    • TGS-Fastnachter present Wolfgang Resch and Sabine Götz as the new Rodgau prince and princess.
    • State honour for Hainhausen's fire chief Rudi Gehrlein.
    • 70th performance of the amateur theatre group of the Kolping Family Jügesheim.
    • Adolf Hessler continues to collect money for the Friedlandhilfe organisation.
    • Gymnaestrada in the Jügesheim sports hall was the glittering finale to the 100th anniversary of the TGM.
    • The town and the Dudenhöfer choral societies sign a contract for a joint concert with the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra.
    • Another well-attended municipal art exhibition in the Dudenhofen community centre.
    • Nieder-Roden local history association presents new book "Jedes Örtchen hat sein Wörtchen".
    • Dudenhofen's local councillor Heinz Koop receives the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
    • Also in Dudenhofen, the long-standing conductor of the Musikverein, Hans Adam, receives the Medal of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
    • Both awards were presented by Mayor Paul Scherer.

  • December

    • Full streets at the Advent stroll in Jügesheim and the Christmas markets in Weiskirchen and Dudenhofen as well as at the Christmas market in Nieder-Roden.
    • Inauguration of the city's new central town hall on Saturday, 10 December, in the presence of the Hessian Minister of the Interior Gottfried Milde
    • One week later, more than 5000 visitors attended the "Open Day" with a club exchange in the town hall.
    • The town awards the 1987 Culture Prize to the owners of three renovated half-timbered houses: Robert Keller from Hainhausen, Eckhard Rehringhaus from Weiskirchen and Kurt Reichenbach from Nieder-Roden
    • End of the year with the TG Nieder-Roden New Year's Eve run and the New Year's Eve balls organised by the male and female choirs in Dudenhofen and the local history association in the Weiskirchen community centre.
