    • First City Councillor Wolfgang Oehlschlägel takes office. As head of department, he takes over the city's building department and social welfare office.
    • In Jügesheim and Weiskirchen, valuable documents (photos, maps, visual material) on the local history of the two districts are on display at exhibitions.
    • Kurt Lambert, head of the sports and culture department and the town's ombudsman, is elected mayor of Hirschhorn. He takes office on 1 July.
    • Representatives of the forestry authority, the city and the environmental protection organisation discuss the extent of the forest damage.

    • The most beautiful carnival procession to date passes through Jügesheim with record participation.
    • The painter and graphic artist Rudolf Petzinger and the Rodgau Monotones are awarded the Cultural Prize of the City of Rodgau.

    • The evening of honour of the town of Rodgau takes place in Dudenhofen. The community centre is to be the annual venue with changing hosts.
    • The youth honouring ceremony was held a week earlier in the TG Jügesheim hall.
    • The Nieder-Roden branch of the German Association for the Protection of Birds receives the Offenbach District Environmental Award.

    • Johann Hitzel from Nieder-Roden is honoured with the Federal Cross of Merit for his decades of service to the fire brigade and the Workers' Welfare Association.
    • 48 children from Rodgau enjoy a 14-day skiing holiday in Austria over Easter.

    • Nieder-Roden celebrates 10 years of partnership with the towns of Hainburg/Austria and Puiseaux/France.
    • The Jügesheim sports club celebrates its 70th anniversary with a marquee party.

    • TSV Dudenhofen celebrates its 95th anniversary with a marquee party and the famous Dudenhöfer Frühschoppen.

      • Horst Holzamer resigns from his position as a city councillor, which he has held since 1972, and becomes Head of the Sports and Culture Department and Ombudsman in Rodgau.

    • 395 children (225 boys and 170 girls) take part in the holiday games in Rodgau.
    • The Weiskirchen sports club becomes town football champions.
    • Forleul caterpillars infest the forest in Dudenhofen.
    • Helicopter spraying and closure of the affected forest areas for six weeks.
    • Kurt Lambert takes office as mayor of Hirschhorn.

    • The coach and boat trips for senior citizens are becoming increasingly popular. Over 2000 Rodgau residents took part in the trip on offer.
    • Storm at the bathing lake. Large parts of the sandy beach are washed away by the masses of water and have to be dredged out of the lake again with wheel loaders.

    • The city's children's festival is attended by around 1300 children.
    • The magistrate of the town of Rodgau visits Nieuwpoort/Belgium, the twin town of Dudenhofen, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the partnership.
    • Friedrich Kratz, the first post-war mayor of Dudenhofen, dies at the age of 75.

    • An architectural competition is being organised for the construction of the town hall in Jügesheim. 140 tender documents were collected for a nominal fee.
    • The town of Rodgau is waiting for approval from Wiesbaden for the further construction of the Rodgau ring road.
  • November

    • 68 Rodgau hobby artists take part in the art exhibition at the Georg Büchner School in Jügesheim.
    • The large playground in Hainhausen is inaugurated with a balloon competition.
    • Rudolf Petzinger is presented with the Rodgau Culture Prize at a ceremony.
  • December

    • The local councils organise Christmas parties for senior citizens in all districts.
    • The approval notice from Wiesbaden for the further construction of the Rodgau ring road arrives - the ground-breaking ceremony is held under protest from the Green Party.
