Practice-integrated training (PIVA) to become an educator (m/f/d)

Would you like to gain practical experience in working with children? Our 17 municipal daycare centres with U3 and Ü3 areas offer you the best opportunities.


Training content

  • Accompanying and supporting children in their individual development
  • Observation and documentation of the children's development processes
  • Childcare in fixed reference groups
  • Language education and support in organising transitions, e.g. from daycare centre to school
  • Open and cooperative work with parents
  • Integration and support for children with special needs

During your 3-year training programme with an integrated work placement, you will get to know the various tasks that await you in the day-to-day work of an educator. The training is divided into a practical part in our daycare centres and the theoretical part, which is completed at a vocational school for social work.

Right from the start, you will receive a salary in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and a corresponding holiday entitlement during non-teaching periods.

Throughout the entire training period, your instructors will be there to support you and help you with exam preparation as well as stage fright and exam anxiety so that you can achieve the best possible qualification.
