Municipal heat planning
Due to the Heat Planning Act (WPG), the town of Rodgau is obliged to draw up a municipal heat plan.
Aim of municipal heat planning
The aim of municipal heat planning is to find ways to organise the local heat supply in a climate-neutral and economically realistic way. Local conditions should be taken into account and utilised and shaped together with those involved.
Background
Climate change, finite fossil resources and global crises require a switch to climate-neutral technologies for the provision of heat. 85 per cent of CO2 emissions in the household sector are caused by space heating and hot water. Municipal heat planning forms the future basis for a sustainable, efficient and future-proof heat supply.
Heat planning together with neighbouring municipalities
Our city is not tackling heat planning alone, but is cooperating as part of a convoy with
- Mühlheim on the Main
- Rödermark
- Obertshausen
The aim of this process is to utilise synergies and deploy resources efficiently.
The invitation to tender has been successfully completed. The specialist firm greenventory GmbH has been commissioned. The final heating plan must be available by 30 June 2028 at the latest.
Each municipality will ultimately receive its own heating plan, which will serve as a strategic planning tool for future measures to achieve a climate-neutral heating supply.
Participation of the citizens
The city of Rodgau attaches great importance to the participation of the population. Information and participation formats are offered on a regular basis. Current dates are announced in the events calendar , among other places.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
What is municipal heat planning?
Municipal heat planning is a strategic process for a future, climate-neutral heat supply.
Why is heat planning important?
The heat supply causes a significant proportion of greenhouse gas emissions. A sustainable heat supply contributes to achieving the national climate targets.
What does heat planning cost me?
The creation of the heating plan is free of charge for citizens. The city of Rodgau bears the costs. The state of Hesse contributes in the form of so-called connexity payments.
What will change for citizens?
Heat planning is strategic planning and has no legally binding effect. The municipal heating plan will tell you whether a connection to a heating network is potentially possible or whether another, decentralised heating solution is more suitable.
How will I be informed?
Via the municipal website, information events and citizen participation formats.
Is GDPR-relevant data collected during municipal heat planning?
The data required for the preparation of the municipal heat planning is processed by the commissioned company (contractor) on the basis of the Hessian Energy Act. This involves collecting data on energy or fuel consumption and electricity consumption for heating purposes. This data can also be collected from third parties such as Maingau, chimney sweep, property cadastre information system, etc.
The data will be deleted after processing or creation of the municipal heat planning. There is a right of access to the responsible bodies. In addition, there is a right to erasure or restriction of processing and a right to object to processing as well as the right to data portability and a right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. The information provided by the district chimney sweeps and the energy companies responsible for the city of Rodgau (electricity, gas and heating network operators) serve as a source of information.
