Diversity strategy

The Rodgau Diversity Strategy is a further step on our path to peaceful and diverse coexistence in Rodgau, in which as many people as possible can participate.

My Rodgau is...

As part of a project organised by the state of Hesse, the "Diversity" working group developed ideas and visions that bring the principles of the Rodgau Diversity Declaration of 2019 to life. With the diversity strategy "My Rodgau is...", the work of the multi-year exchange, discussion and learning process initiated by the Rodgau Diversity Declaration of 2019 has now been presented. The content of the diversity strategy was also adopted by the city council in October 2022 and printed for distribution to the municipal community in January 2023. In the Rodgau Diversity Strategy, you will now find the ideas and visions for tolerant coexistence, characterised by acceptance and free from discrimination.

Together with citizens

The diversity strategy was drawn up together with the citizens of Rodgau. Whether full-time or voluntary representatives from areas such as administration, politics, business, voluntary work, education, club work, citizenship and other organisations and institutions based in Rodgau - everyone in Rodgau was invited to get involved and help shape the content of the diversity strategy.

Focus on two questions

• "How do we want to live together in the future in a community that is increasingly characterised by diversity?"
• "How can coexistence/living together in Rodgau be organised in such a way that as many people in Rodgau as possible can participate?"

The "Diversity" working group is still open to all interested citizens under the motto "Everyone is welcome - at any time"! If you are interested in getting involved, you can contact the Diversity and Education office at any time.

Rodgau Diversity Declaration

The Rodgau Diversity Declaration 2019 was developed and written by the "Diversity" working group, which consists of people who themselves represent or represent diversity in our city: Citizens, committed individuals from associations, initiatives, organisations, religious communities, political parties and the city administration. The declaration describes a joint declaration of intent and a basis of values for cooperation that is characterised by mutual awareness, appreciation and consideration. As such, it was also adopted by the city council in September 2019. The first signing of the Rodgau Diversity Declaration took place on 21 November 2019. To date, over 200 Rodgau residents and representatives of more than 80 associations have signed the declaration, sending a signal in favour of tolerant and diverse coexistence in our city.
