Sports coaches
As part of the "Sport integrates Hesse" programme, the two volunteer sports coaches Dana Tobaji and Arash Kalhori support people with a migration background as well as socially disadvantaged people in getting into club sports and offer a wide range of sports-related activities.
What are sports coaches?
The sports coaches are often members of a sports club themselves and know many of the local players in Rodgau. This enables them to establish uncomplicated contacts between the target group, their carers and the local sports clubs and to accompany and motivate people to take part in sports activities - especially in the early days.
- Dana Tobaji can accompany you in German and Arabic
(phone 0152 27953525) - Arash Kalhori helps in English, German and Farsi
(phone 0177 1498858)
The sports coaches can also be contacted by e-mail at sportcoachrodgau@web.de .
Tasks of the sports coaches:
- enquire about the sports interests of interested parties
- sound out the interests and opportunities of the sports clubs in their town or municipality with the board members and coaches
- accompany interested people to sports activities during the initial period (and help organise car pools if necessary)
- hold regular discussions with all parties involved
The project is eligible for funding:
- Compensation for people who lead sports programmes for the target group
- Costs for sports festivals for and with refugees, people with a migration background and socially disadvantaged people
- Entrance fees and travel costs for excursions primarily related to sport and exercise (e.g. climbing park, indoor soccer centre)
- Material resources for sports programmes for the target group (in particular sports clothing, materials, transport costs) - to a limited extent
- Costs for training and qualification measures in the field of organised sport with the aim of taking up voluntary work in a sports club. Only tandems consisting of a person with a personal migrant background and another person without such a migrant background are eligible for funding
- Costs for an intercultural training programme in the club or intercultural competence for sports clubs
Sports clubs that are committed to helping people with low incomes and/or a refugee background can also receive financial support from the programme in consultation with the sports coaches.
