Looking and remembering - commemorating the 87th anniversary of the Reichspogromnacht

On the night of 9 to 10 November 1938, synagogues and prayer houses were burned in Germany. Many Jewish businesses and homes were destroyed or looted, and more than 1,300 Jews were murdered that night. Pogrom Night 1938 marked the beginning of the systematic persecution and murder of the Jewish population by the Nazi regime.

The Heimat und Geschichtsverein Weiskirchen, in cooperation with the City of Rodgau, Sports and Culture Department, invites you to commemorate the Jewish victims of the Shoah from the former communities of today's city of Rodgau.

This year's commemoration will focus in particular on the fate of Jewish citizens born or living in Jügesheim who were victims of National Socialism.

The commemoration will take place on Sunday, 9 November 2025, in the former synagogue in Weiskirchen, Hauptstraße 57. It will begin at 5 pm.

The event will be accompanied by music from Christian Glaab (saxophone), Andreas Held (guitar) and Winno Sahm (vocals).

All interested citizens are cordially invited. Please note that there are no toilets in the building of the former synagogue.
