This year, Rodgau's childminder office can look back on an impressive success story: 35 years of dedicated work for early childhood care and education. In addition, the substitution model for childcare security in cooperation with the district of Offenbach, which forms another pillar of the Rodgau childcare network, is also celebrating its 5th anniversary. These two anniversaries emphasise the continuous development and the firm position of childcare in the town. As part of the nationwide Child Day Care Action Week, the Day Care Office will therefore be organising a variety of free activities for young and old every day in the first week of May to celebrate its anniversaries. The day care centre was founded 35 years ago with the aim of meeting the need for flexible and needs-based childcare. Initially a small project, the office, based in the Jügesheim Family Centre, has since developed into an indispensable institution.

It is not only a central point of contact for 24 childminders and one childminder, i.e. the 25 childminders working here. The child day care office is also an important support for Rodgau families with children under 3 years of age who are looking for an individual and family-orientated childcare service in a small group. Another milestone in the development of child day care in Rodgau is the substitute model for childcare security, which was introduced as a pilot project five years ago. The aim was and is to provide families with continuous care even during periods of absence, for example due to illness or training days of the day carer. This takes place free of charge in a separate substitute flat by the pedagogical substitute day carer Claudia Kotte. The Rodgau daycare team is particularly proud of the rapid expansion of the substitute structures, as in addition to Claudia Kotte, three other substitute childminders are now permanently integrated. These dedicated professionals work according to pedagogical and organisational guidelines to ensure that the substitute model works well and that families are provided with continuous care.
