Twice a year, the population is to be warned via sirens and warning systems such as Hessenwarn, Katwarn and Cell-Broadcast. The nationwide warning day is usually in autumn and in the first half of the year it will be the turn of the federal states. Hesse will join Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate in triggering the sirens on Thursday, 13 March. They will also be heard in Rodgau. However, the usual signal for a "fire alarm" will still sound from the existing 9 functioning analogue systems. This is a 3x 15 second continuous tone. The siren signal "Warning of the population" is a 1 minute rising and falling tone and is triggered by digital siren systems. The Rodgau siren systems are currently still analogue, but will also be converted by July. By then, 5 additional sirens will also be strategically distributed throughout the city. This means that there will be two siren signals in the city area for the first time on the nationwide warning day in autumn: 1x "warning the population" and 1x "all-clear".
