Free comic day at the Nieder-Roden library

It's Free Comic Book Day again and the Rodgau public library is taking part for the second time on Saturday, 10 May. This makes it one of over 1,200 libraries, bookshops and comic shops in Germany, Austria, Luxembourg and Switzerland that are distributing free comic books to children and young people this year. A colourful range of the comic world awaits comic fans young and old. German-language comic publishers are contributing 22 different comics for children aged between 6 and 14. The Nieder-Roden public library will be open on 10 May from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be offering its visitors an exciting programme of events to mark Free Comic Book Day. Every child can choose two comics to take home for free. There will also be a creative hands-on station where children can make their own personalised souvenir. As last year, manga artist Leonie Droege will be a guest at the library at Puiseauxplatz 3, where she will draw the attendees, who can then take her manga-style portrait home with them. All comic fans are cordially invited to take part in this special event. The Free Comic Book Day is a great opportunity for children to discover their love of reading and be inspired by the diversity of comic art. The team at the public library is looking forward to an exciting and entertaining day and hopes to see lots of young visitors.
