"NO to violence against women" is the official day of remembrance on 25 November, which has been recognised by the United Nations since 1999. Unfortunately, domestic violence against women is still commonplace in our society. Every woman - regardless of nationality and social class - can be affected by it.
The forms of violence that women experience are diverse: physical violence (such as hitting, kicking, pushing), psychological violence (threatening, intimidating, devaluing), sexual violence, social violence, emotional and economic violence. Violence against women is almost always also violence against the children; simply witnessing the violence against the mothers has a negative effect on the children. The town of Rodgau and the Rodgau Women's Network also say NO to violence against women. As a visible sign, the Terres des Femmes flag "live free" will be hoisted in front of the town hall on 25 November. To mark this day of remembrance, the city's Equal Rights Office invites you to an "Intercultural Women's Breakfast" on Saturday, 30 November from 10 a.m. at the town hall, Hintergasse 15. The Rodgau Women's Network has been in existence for many years. Regardless of denomination, nationality or age, various women's groups from the city belong to the network. In addition to encounters, interesting conversations and intercultural dialogue, the "Weisse Ring e.V. - Hilfe für Kriminalitätsopfer und Prävention" will present its work, areas of responsibility and support services to visitors at this women's breakfast. This will be followed by a discussion. All interested women are cordially invited to this "Intercultural Women's Breakfast". As always, visitors are welcome to enrich the buffet with one or two small treats. No registration is required.
