Looking and remembering: 86th anniversary of the Reichspogromnacht

On the night of the pogrom from 9 to 10 November 1938, the National Socialists turned to open violence against Jewish citizens. Synagogues and Jewish places of worship were burned, Jewish citizens were abused and killed. To commemorate the Jewish victims of Nazi crimes from the former communities of today's town of Rodgau, the Weiskirchen Heritage and History Association (HGV), in cooperation with the Agency for Culture, Sport and Volunteering (AKSE) of the town of Rodgau, invites you to a historical presentation. The presentation will focus on the fate of Markus Reis, a Jewish citizen born in Nieder-Roden, who was deported by the National Socialists and died in a French internment camp in 1942. Christian Glaab, Andreas Held and Winno Sahm will provide the musical accompaniment for the memorial service. It will take place on Saturday, 9 November at 7 pm in the former synagogue in Weiskirchen, Hauptstraße 57. All citizens of Rodgau are cordially invited to attend. Please note that there is no toilet in the building of the former synagogue.
